Featured Therapy – Reflexology

September 22nd, 2015

September sees World Reflexology Awareness Week 21st – 27th September, so we have chosen Reflexology as our Therapy of the Month.

In this blog post Victoria Lily talks about what reflexology is and how is can help you.

‘Reflexology is most commonly practiced from the points on the feet. Reflex points can also be found on the hands and face. On the feet there are many points that relate to every area of our bodies. All internal organs, limbs, joints, ears, teeth, head, nose and more can be treated from our feet.

During a treatment the patient either sits or lies down and just relaxes whilst the treatment is carried out. The treatments are deeply relaxing and also balance out the body by encouraging the smooth flow of energy. In complementary health treatments, it is often thought that illnesses are caused by an imbalance of energy flow, therefore a treatment like reflexology may prevent illnesses from occurring.

Reflexology can be used to help many issues such as migraines, irritable bowel symptoms, PMT, achy joints, during and pre-pregnancy, neuralgia, mental stress and tension along with many others.’

We have three reflexologists at the Centre, Victoria Lily, Donna Walker and Pat Miller and you can find out more about them by clicking on their name or call the Centre on 01394 388234.
