Time to Talk Day 2019

February 07th, 2019

Time to Talk day on 7th February aims to bring about conversations to end the stigma attached to mental health and to encourage conversations around mental health.

1 in 4 of us suffer with mental health issues and it can be very isolating to feel the need to pretend all is ok- so let’s start the conversation today.

Perhaps you could check in with a work colleague to see if they are well, or confide in a friend or group of friends, or perhaps you need more support and may like to use our counselling service, or other wellbeing services here at the Woodbridge Complementary Health Centre.

Let’s try and move away from social niceties and double check that ‘I’m ok’ does mean exactly that, rather than an inability to express ‘I’m struggling today’. Sometimes using the language openly, such as ‘my anxiety is really troubling me at the moment’ or ‘I really suffer with my depression at this time of year’ can be affirming to say, and for others to hear, and could lead to recovery with the right support. We don’t need to shy away from talking about mental health- help is available. Please don’t suffer alone!
