Victoria’s Oil for the Month of May – Clary Sage

May 02nd, 2018

Clary Sage (Salvia Sclarea) is from France and is commonly considered to be excellent for women. It works alongside the hormonal cycle to soothe nerves and emotions caused by hormonal changes.

Clary Sage has quite an earthy fresh scent and I often blend it with something a little lighter like lavender or lemon. Clary Sage’s benefits are found in its calming influence on the body and mind and can be used in massage to give all-over body comfort and to ease tension. Clary Sage is an excellent oil to burn in the evening before bed or during the night in a diffuser as it produces feelings of tranquility. It can also be used in the bath before bed, just a few drops to ease the day away.

A great blend to help with mood balancing and/or anxiety is clary sage with bergamot and jasmine. Use 8 drops bergamot oil with 4 drops or clary sage and 2 drops of jasmine if you have it, straight into a diffuser or diluted in oil for massage.

Hmmmmm, I think I will toddle off and soothe myself with some clary sage in the diffuser for the evening. Happy Maytime All, and may Spring sunshine be soon properly upon us.
