Anxiety is quite a common challenge to face in life.
There are several types of anxiety, including:
The type of anxiety that comes up because we worry something will go wrong in the future. NLP can help by exploring the concerns you are having.
Generalised anxiety that comes up because of biological or medical reasons like shortness of breathing, medication, sleep apnea.
NLP cannot stop the anxiety, but can assist with developing strategies for dealing with the anxiety when it comes up.
There is a type of anxiety that pops up out of nowhere with no apparent thought process or trigger. This is often a reaction that occurs in people who have experienced trauma especially in their youth. This is something different from Post Traumatic-Stress Disorder as no specific memory is accessed. This type of anxiety is often caused by an overactive flight/flight/freeze response. This can be explored over time to help clarify any confusion in our thought processes which can be contributing to this reaction.
The coaching process is a good way of exploring and clarifying your own thoughts. It’s not just for anxiety issues and can be helpful in many life situations. However anxiety can be a good place to start if it is getting in the way of moving forward.
NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) is the practice of understanding how people organise their thinking, feeling, language and behaviour to produce the results they do. NLP can be used for personal development and for success in business.
A key element of NLP is that we form our unique internal mental maps of the world as a product of the way we filter and perceive information absorbed through our five senses from the world around us .
