Why I became a therapist – Izzy Ixer

March 19th, 2022

Yoga can be about finding a way of handling personal challenges in life, improving mental and physical wellbeing, maintaining fitness while recovering from injury or building confidence to return to work after a break.  And this is where the one-to-one yoga sessions at the Woodbridge Complementary Health Centre are beneficial.  As a qualified coach Izzy can support you with work/life issues too.

Izzy says: ‘My interest in yoga was sparked by my wonderful aunt, who lived in London and had cool friends who travelled to India, lived on a kibbutz and brought back different perspectives on life.  The philosophy of yoga and the ideas behind it first attracted me and it was only later that I found out about yoga postures, breathing and relaxation techniques.  I was one of the first people to train as a yoga teacher in Suffolk and once I was qualified I began leading groups and bringing the benefits of yoga to people in Suffolk.”

As well as studying with old style yoga teachers like Sri Indar Nath and Wilfred Clarke, Izzy enjoys broadening her knowledge of yoga and has, more recently trained with Zoe Knott, Catherine Annis, Paul Fox and Peter Blackaby.  She teaches classical Hatha Yoga with an emphasis on finding your own pace and sense of inner calm.

Yoga one to one sessions at the centre are always popular and Izzy plans the session specially for you, so that you can discover the benefits of yoga for yourself!
