Victoria Lily’s oil for February – Citronella

February 06th, 2019

Many of you may have used citronella oil when you are camping as an insect repellent. It has a powerful lemony scent which can be quite stimulating and uplifting. As a massage oil citronella is considered to be useful in relieving the pain of arthritis.

Citronella is also used in soaps, household cleaners and detergents due to its antiseptic properties.  There has been research carried out that shows that citronella oil may help calm barking dogs. I have not tried this out myself, but it sounds interesting.
